While packing for the trip to Southern Sudan, I learned about this opportunity!

The Sudan Challenge is Global Business Assist's campaign to start empowerment programs in Southern Sudan -- efforts that enable Sudanese families to have sustainable income through small businesses.  These next two weeks, I am going to be in Sudan helping set up the first micro-finance project in Bar El Ghazal (see map)

The publishers of PARADE magazine, along with the Facebook Causes, have started a giving challenge, which will grant $50,000 to the charity that can log the most donation transactions between now and midnight, November 6.

What this means is that every time you and your friends make a donation of at least $10, we get that much closer to winning the 50,000 challenge award.

How many people can you get to join you in a 10.00 donation to the Sudan Challenge before Nov 7?  Even if you're not part of Facebook, you can reach the challenge page directly here

IF GBA get's the most donations (not most dollars, but most donations!) we will get $50,000!!

Yes, you can donate more than once - you can donate daily... but the minimum donation is $10. each time. So if you're inclined to donate $20, make two donations of $10 on two separate days.

Even people NOT using Facebook can donate through the causes link.  The 50,000 dollar award goes to the cause that has the most Donation Transactions... meaning that someone who donates every day during the contest gets each one of their transactions counted.  The leading organization only has 150 transactions so far. WE CAN BEAT THAT by tomorrow with your help.

Here's the link for non-facebook users:  Help GBA receive a $50,000 prize in the America's Giving Challenge.

Facebook users should join the Sudan Challenge cause, and then go to the America's Giving Challenge link to donate.

Thanks for your help in getting the word out.
